Ford India might soon expand its Figo hatchback model lineup with a new automatic variant. According to a fresh media report, the 2021 Ford Figo petrol automatic will hit showrooms in the month of July. In fact, the staff training has been commenced at dealerships. The model will receive the brand’s 6-speed torque convertor gearbox with the 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. The same transmission unit does duty in the EcoSport petrol automatic variant. However, the Figo petrol automatic is likely to come with paddle shifters.
The 2021 Ford Figo petrol automatic will ensure better throttle response at the low engine speeds. It’s 1.2L NA engine returns a claimed power of 95bhp and 119Nm of torque. The motor promises a fuel efficiency of 18.5kmpl when paired to a manual gearbox. With the automatic transmission, the mileage figure will go down.
The hatchback also comes with the 1.5L, 3-cylinder and 1.5L diesel engines offering a top power of 123bhp with 150Nm and 100bhp with 215Nm respectively. Currently, the Figo model lineup is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. Just so you know, the carmaker discontinued the Ford Figo petrol automatic Titanium variants along with two paint schemes last year.
The upcoming 2021 Ford Figo petrol automatic is likely to be offered on higher trims.
